The Traverse SL 27.5 6B Fattie is a light, durable, enduro-ready carbon wheel for high performance riding. It features a wide profile and 28 DT Swiss Competition Race J-Bend spokes that are all the same length and easy to replace. An updated hub design is wider and stiffer than previous versions.

With a 30mm inner rim width, the Traverse SL Fatties are wider than a standard mountain bike rim (19–23mm) but narrower than a fat bike rim. Through iterative development, Specialized's engineers found that 30mm wide rims have optimal benefits including supporting bigger tire volume, which makes for better cornering and traction. It also makes for stiffer rims.

The Traverse SL Fatties are hand built around Specialized alloy hubs to dissipate forces without breaking the scale.
