Transition Relay Top Tier Build

The Relay Carbon XX1 AXS build is the top-of-the-line spec’d out choice for this trail eMTB. The Relay Carbon XX1 AXS has a carbon chassis and all the best carbon componentry: OneUp Carbon handlebars and CrankBrothers Synthesis Enduro Carbon rims with Industry Nine hubs.

Ready to ride better? SRAM XX1 AXS is the umbrella to the entire Eagle AXS family of drivetrain components. The Relay Carbon XX1 AXS with a SRAM XX1 AXS drivetrain gives you better shifting, better control, and optimal simplicity in the system for high performance.

With the added bulk of most eMTB’s, greater attention is given to the suspension system so that you can charge hard through rugged terrain with confidence in a stable and efficient system. The Relay Carbon XX1 AXS features FOX Factory suspension––a Float 160mm shock and a Float 36 Grip 2 160mm fork. The Kashima coated, lightweight, FOX Float 36 Grip 2 fork on the Relay Carbon XX1 AXS features improved durability in the crown and a floating axle, both lending to strength and torsional stiffness. The suspension system can be precisely adjusted and fine-tuned for maximum performance and efficiency.

The Relay Carbon XX1 AXS build kit is only available with 29” wheels. For a PNW version, choose the Relay Carbon X01 or GX build kits.

The Best Transition Relay Value Builds

The Transition Relay Alloy NX offers the most approachable buildkit among the six build options. With a tough and dependable alloy frame, the Relay Alloy NX features many of the same specs plus all the power of the top end build, but swaps out race ready components for high value selections.

It’s time to get rowdy with a Z1 Marzocchi 160mm fork and FOX Float X Performance 160mm shock. The Relay Alloy NX buildkit’s suspension is confidence inspiring with loads of travel, a smooth yet stiff fork, and a two-position shock that closely resembles a FOX Factory level version, minus the Kashima coat.

Hardworking, no-nonsense alloy RaceFace stem and bars keep you centered and in control on all mountain trails.

The Relay Alloy NX pedals pair with a Praxis Alloy crankset; these are go-to e-cranks on top eMTBs across the board. The SRAM NX drivetrain keeps the Relay Alloy NX shifting consistently with maximum performance and long-term durability.

The Relay Alloy NX is only available with 29” wheels.

Debuting for 2023, the Transition Relay features a removable battery so you can plug it in, leave it at home, or toss it in your backpack just in case. Time to ‘party in the woods’!

The Relay’s ingenious modular design puts it in a category of its own: a long-travel mountain bike that rides well with or without the Fauza battery. Powered by a Fauza Ride 60 motor and paired app, you can customize the mechanical power output of this sleek e-mtb system. Want to ride on trails that are limited to manually powered bikes? No problem! The tool-free battery door allows you to remove the Fauza battery, shed almost five pounds of bike weight, and roll out.

The Relay’s Speed Balanced Geometry (SBG) boosts confidence with adaptations that take the eMTB weight and long travel suspension into consideration. SBG translates to improved weight distribution and responsive maneuverability.

Designed to accommodate a 29” wheelset or a mixed wheelset, the Relay can easily compensate with the flip chip, which adjusts the geometry accordingly.

The Transition Relay has intelligent features that let you focus on the ride. A Fauza ring controller on the handlebars makes shifting through power levels smooth while the top tube display allows you to monitor pedal assist modes––Breeze, River, or Rocket.
