Santa Cruz Heckler Top Tier Build

The high-end Heckler CC X01 AXS RSV build kit starts with a CC frame, Santa Cruz’s higher quality, lighter weight carbon build. The componentry and details on the Heckler CC X01 AXS RSV are anything but basic.

A FOX 36 Float Factory fork is packed with tunable features and made to exceed expectations in sensitivity, support, and strength. The podium-worthy RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate also features high-performance tunability and compression adjustment. With the added weight and power of an eMTB, riders will appreciate every bit of responsiveness and comfort in a high-end suspension design.

Round out the electronics with a SRAM AXS drivetrain. The Heckler CC X01 AXS RSV shifts effortlessly with the Eagle AXS shifters and derailleur. The X01 Eagle AXS derailleur is more compact, giving riders greater ground clearance than a mechanical Eagle derailleur. It's sleek system that simplifies your shifting.

The Heckler CC X01 AXS RSV rolls on RSV carbon wheels, Industry Nine hubs, and grippy Maxxis tires–– Assegai + Minion DHR. Riders choose between a mixed wheelset or a pair of 29” wheels to complete the build.

The Heckler CC X01 AXS RSV features high-end suspension, Kashima fork and dropper, and carbon throughout, offering riders top-notch performance, with all the bells and whistles.

Santa Cruz Heckler Options

The Heckler C R build kit gives riders a carbon eMTB in a price range relative to traditional carbon mountain bikes.

Grippy Maxxis tires––Assegai + Minion DHR––keep the Heckler C R digging deep to provide traction in corners and rough terrain, and four-piston SRAM G2 brakes with Avid Centerline 200mm rotors give you ample stopping power and control.

The Heckler C R features a RockShox Super Deluxe rear shock is built for aggressive all-mountain riding and gives riders tunability as well as bottom-out protection. The RockShox Lyric fork is designed for adventure, achieving the perfect balance between stiffness and light weight.

The drivetrain for the Santa Cruz Heckler C R is the 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle with a gear range perfectly suited to crushing hills and pedaling through rugged terrain.

While you’ll be saving a hefty amount with the Heckler C R, you won't be compromising a single bit on power and range. All Santa Cruz Heckler build kits come with the same Shimano Drive Unit and a 720 wh battery, so you can broaden your range of riding and exploration.

The most notable feature on the Heckler is the option to select your wheelset size––mixed or 29”. For techy terrain and quick all-mountain handling, opt for the mixed wheels with a 27.5” front wheel and a 29” rear wheel (relative of the Santa Cruz Bronson). For a smoother, flowy cross country-oriented ride that’s stable at speed, opt for the 29” wheelset (a relative of the Santa Cruz Hightower). Mixed wheelset and 29” wheelset utilize different swing arms and links; they will not be interchangeable, so choose the best wheelset for your riding style. 


The Heckler features a 720 wh battery (up from the previous 540 wh battery), meaning longer battery life and more confidence when venturing into the backcountry. Deemed an all-mountain, wide-ranging eMTB, the Heckler is designed for going further, making long routes more attainable than ever. 


The Heckler’s Shimano EP8 motor has three modes––Boost, Trail, and Eco––so you can tune the level of assist. A lower-link Flip Chip gives you the power to adjust the Heckler’s geometry with a simple flip. The Santa Cruz Heckler is a wide-ranging Class 1 E-Mountain Bike, meaning you still have to pedal but the battery-powered assist makes your job easier.
