Alloy is experiencing a revival amongst riders who favor durability and a forgiving frame over counting grams. The Smuggler Alloy NX gives riders an approachable price point and a carbon alternative. Speed Balanced Geometry distributes the weight of the Smuggler Alloy NX, suspension and componentry for a balanced and controlled ride at any speed. GiddyUp Suspension––a four-bar rear suspension design––works with the FOX Float X Performance shock to amp up the Smuggler Alloy NX’s 130mm travel. Not all mountain bikers don spandex kits or seek out rock gardens every ride. The Transition Smuggler is the perfect, do-it-all bike for riders who just want to ride. Sitting smack dab in the middle between the Transition Spur (120mm fork) and the Transition Sentinel (160mm fork), the 140mm/130mm Smuggler is the most versatile mountain bike in the lineup.

Like the Spur, the Smuggler is set up with Speed Balanced Geometry (SBG) for efficient pedaling between laps or connecting trail networks for long weekend rides. Like the Sentinel, the 29” wheels roll up, over, and through rocks with style. Plenty capable of aggressive riding, the Smuggler shines on trails you're apt to ride every day. Thanks to SBG, the Smuggler feels balanced between the front and rear and is confidence-inspiring at high speeds and navigating tight corners and technical terrain at slow speed.

The Smuggler is precise and fast yet impressively nimble for a 29er, rocking aggressive Assegai and Dissector Maxxis tires. A 140mm fork and 130mm FOX shock on a four-bar Horst Link suspension design offer riders plenty of travel and the playful pep you expect from a Transition bike.

A standout design feature of the Smuggler is the new cable routing. Most Transition bikes have an externally routed rear brake cable, but with more and more riders opting for electronic drivetrains, tidying the cable network up makes sense. The Smuggler features fully integrated internal cable routing with guide tubes, eliminating cable rattling and maintaining a neat aesthetic whether you opt for electronic or not.
